AXA Insurance is launching a new private accident insurance policy . The new product is designed with the needs of both customers and brokers in mind and is particularly user-friendly, ensuring a straightforward policy purchase and making coverage accessible to a wider range of customers. AXA is now waiving the health check requirement – saving considerable time during customer consultations and ensuring satisfaction for both parties. New, target-group-specific modules, such as coverage for children or public sector employees, and a supplementary payment for a plaster cast injury, perfectly complement the proven benefits of the accident insurance. The independent comparison site tarifair has awarded AXA's new accident insurance policy a perfect score of 21 out of 21 points, recognizing it as a top-rated policy.
AXA's new private accident insurance is streamlined. Its modular design allows the policy to be tailored to individual customer needs. Here's how the accident insurance is structured:
- Core of the product: Lump sum payment in case of disability including progression (2.25 times, 3.5 times or 6 times the benefit), optionally selectable with capital turbo (full disability benefit from 50% disability)
- Optional modules: Minimum disability, capital boost, plaster cast allowance, rehabilitation module, accident pension, death benefit, hospital daily allowance, target group-specific module for children and module for the public service
“Private accident insurance is essential, as the costs in the event of disability can quickly amount to tens of thousands of euros,” says Christian Gesell , Head of Product Management for Accident Insurance at AXA . “With our new product, we offer simple, modern, and flexible coverage that has received a top rating from tarifair.”
Building block for children
If an insured child is absent from school for an extended period after an accident, they often miss many important lessons. AXA offers comprehensive support with its Children's Insurance module. This module includes three benefits:
- Tuition allowance : If an insured child is unable to attend regular school classes due to an accident, a tutoring allowance of €50 per school day will be paid. Payment begins on the 11th school day the child is unable to attend classes and continues for a maximum of 100 school days. The entitlement to the tutoring allowance exists even if no tutoring is actually received. Multiple school absences due to the same accident are considered one continuous absence; holidays and days off from school are not taken into account. The entitlement to the tutoring allowance is established by submitting a certificate from the school confirming the days of absence and a medical certificate.
- Rooming-In : If a child requires hospital care after an accident, the insurance company will pay €25 per night for a caregiver's inpatient stay, for a maximum of 100 nights. Rehabilitation and spa stays are excluded.
- Premium waiver for children's insurance: If the policyholder dies during the policy term and was under 65 years of age at the start of the policy, and the policy had not been cancelled, the following applies: The policy continues without premiums until the end of the policy year following the child's 18th birthday as defined in section 10.6, with the coverage in effect at that time. The child's legal representative becomes the new policyholder unless otherwise agreed. The existing contract is made premium-free, and the agreed-upon automatic premium adjustment remains in effect.
Building block Public Service
As a specialist provider for the public sector, AXA, with its brand Deutsche Beamtenversicherung (DBV), places particular emphasis on the protection of civil servants and public sector employees. Police officers and emergency services personnel, in particular, are increasingly exposed to physical violence. If the insured person suffers one of the following injuries in such an incident, they will receive compensation for pain and suffering from the insurance company. The following are covered:
- complete bone fracture, muscle, tendon, capsule or ligament tear
- Gunshot or stab wound caused by a weapon in accordance with Section 1 Paragraph 2 of the Weapons Act
- Injuries requiring outpatient surgery under general or regional anesthesia
- Injuries requiring at least a 3-day hospital stay
If one of the injuries listed above occurs, AXA will pay a lump sum of €2,500. In addition, AXA will, if needed, put you in touch with one of our qualified service providers. These providers can help arrange psychotherapy if it becomes necessary after an incident on duty. This is an important aspect in times when therapy slots are very scarce. (
Cast money)
The optional "plaster money" module applies, for example, to injuries that do not necessarily result in a degree of disability. The insured person receives a one-time payment of €500 to a maximum of €1,000 per accident, depending on the severity of the injury, whether it is a bone fracture or a complete ligament tear. The maximum total benefit is limited to €1,000 per accident.
